Ron Davis began serving as Burbank City Manager in 2016, but his relationship with the City predates the 21st century. In 1999, he transitioned from the private to the public sector when he departed Puget Sound Energy, Inc. to become general manager of community owned utility, Burbank Water and Power.
During Ron’s 17-year tenure, BWP evolved into a model organization recognized internationally for innovation and dependability, while delivering some of the lowest water and electricity rates in all of Southern California.
Ron’s driving motivation is serving the community in which he lives. This has included broad support of the Burbank non-profit community and its missions. His 42-year union with his beloved wife Cheryl has produced two grown sons and two grandchildren who he visits often in the Pacific Northwest, though not nearly enough to his liking. Ron credits a lifelong love of reading for nurturing his problem solving skills. If you know of a good book, he will happily consider recommendations.
