Debbie Kukta was appointed City Treasurer on June 28, 2012 to complete retiring treasurer Donna Anderson’s unfinished term. She was elected to a four-year term in 2013 and again in 2017.
Prior to joining the City, Debbie served seven years on the Burbank Board of Education. She has worked in the private sector for almost 30 years, serving most recently as president of a small Glendale manufacturing company. She is a Certified Public Accountant, a Chartered Global Management Accountant and a Certified California Municipal Treasurer.
Debbie is a member of the California Municipal Treasurers Association, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She also belongs to Burbank Noon Kiwanis and the Burbank Chapter of National Charity League.
A graduate of Burbank High School, Debbie earned a BS in Business Administration/Accounting from California State University, Northridge and is currently working on an MBA through the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. She and her husband, Kerk Brown, have five children – Nick, Matt, Ashley, Calais and Spence.
