Update, April 25, 2014: The first linkBurbank Community Workshop was held on June 27, 2013. This first workshop served primarily as an information and listening session. It was a chance to share with the community the project goals, study area boundaries, and potential opportunities for improvements in the area and get feedback from the community. Following up on the workshop held in June 2013, a second workshop was held on March 6, 2014, which allowed participants to review the preliminary ideas on transportation improvements and land use options in the study area. Attendees at the March 6th workshop provided comments and questions regarding the initial transportation improvements and land use options. Public comments received at that meeting that fall within the scope of this project will potentially be included in the development of alternatives.
Staff will host one additional public workshop to present the study findings to the public. This third public workshop is tentatively scheduled to occur in July 2014. The final workshop will focus on presenting the final set of alternatives and receiving public comment on the recommendations. City staff will then go back to the Burbank Planning Board and City Council to get direction on how to proceed with the recommendations. In other words, staff will propose ideas for how to implement the recommendations – specific plan, over lay zone, etc.
