ON JUNE 13, 2017, THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVED THE PROJECT.

In July 2014, the Developer filed applications for a Development Review, a Planned Development, and a Development Agreement for a proposed mixed-use project in Downtown Burbank. On June 13, 2017, the City Council approved the project, which consists of three six-story buildings with a total of 275 multifamily apartments on the upper floors; a total of up to 18,976 square-feet of retail and commercial space on the ground floors; related on-site amenities and open space areas; and related public and private improvements. This project includes a zone change from Burbank Center Commercial Limited Business (BCC-2) to Planned Development (PD).

The project site is generally located on the westerly side of North 1st Street (between 1st Street and Interstate 5), and between East Magnolia Boulevard and the alley southeast of Palm Avenue. The project site is a total of approximately three acres of land. The following addresses are included in the project site: 227, 249, 315 & 333 North 1st Street; 36, 42, 43, 52, 53, 57, 71, and 72 N. Palm Ave; and 36, 52 & 60 E. Magnolia Blvd.

Community Meeting: A Community Meeting was held on Monday, March 21, 2016, at 6:00 PM in the Community Room (Room 104) on the first floor of the Community Services Building at 150 North Third Street in Burbank. The applicant and City staff were present to respond to questions and receive public comments. No decision on the project applications was made at this meeting. The agenda is available from the Development Review Community Meeting Agendas webpage.
