RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES
The City of Burbank provides a variety of recreation and educational programs for adults age 55+ at locations throughout the city.  The Joslyn Adult Center and Tuttle Center provide classes and drop-in programs for adults age 55+.  This includes fitness, art, music, dance, cards, computer technology, education and support, recreational games, Burbank Senior Games, health fair, travel opportunities, and special events throughout the year.

2015 BURBANK SENIOR ACTIVITY CARD (BSAC)
Please note: The 2015 BSAC card will be $15 for Burbank residents and $20 for non-residents.  Card holders receive discounts on programs, trips, and classes. The BSAC card is not affilliated with the Senior Nutrition Program.

Effective for the upcoming 2015 Winter Session of classes, the BSAC card will no longer present discounts for Parks and Recreation Services non-senior specific programs and services.  The department proudly offers senior discounts to many comunity based program, including at our aquatic facilities and Starlight Bowl.  For a complete list of discounts and services available to BSAC card holders, or for more information call 818.238.5353.

NEW LIFELONG LEARNING COURSES
Joslyn Cyber Café computer classes!  Work with our Cyber Crew to learn the basics.  To participate, you must obtain a Burbank Library Card with Internet authorization.  Please note dates/times are subject to change.  Apply for a library card at your local Burbank library.  For computer class information call 818.238.5353.

One-on-One Computer Training
Are you a computer novice?  Need instruction in emailing or a particular program? Sign up for a one-hour private computer lesson at the Information Desk. Session fee is $5.00 ($2.00 with BSAC card).
Day: Tuesday or Thursday
Time: 12:30-2:30 p.m.

Computer Skills Assessmentcomputer lab
Pre-requisite: If you are interested in taking a computer class, you must take an assessment test to help us place you in the appropriate level class.
Day: Monday
Time: 9:30– 11:00 a.m.

Basic Computer Skills
Learn the basics of computers, internet surfing, email, word processing, and spreadsheet applications. Sign-up for an interest list by calling 818.238.5353.

Open Computer Lab
All computer users must have a Burbank City Library Card with Internet access. (Dates/times subject to change.)
Day: Monday-Friday
Time: 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-4:30 p.m

Gadget Workshop
Youth volunteers can help you with questions regarding your iPods, cell phones, digital cameras, GPS and other electronic devices. To schedule an appointment, call 818.238.5353.

Love to dance? Join us for a variety of dancing classes and activities at Joslyn Adult Center.  Note: participants with BSAC card receive $2 off admission price.

Senior Games
In the spirit of participation and competition, the 2015 Burbank Senior Games Committee is inviting individuals, 55 years and over, to become part of the 21st Annual Burbank Senior Games. Click here for application.

Mindfulness Meditation
Improve your awareness and concentration and promote a relaxed and calm state of mind.
Day: Tuesdays and Thursdays
Time: 8:30 a.m.
Fee: $2.00 per session (free with BSAC)

Zumba Gold
Enjoy an introduction to this low-impact, easy to follow, Latin-inspired dance-fitness class! Get a safe and effective total body workout (standing or seated) to dances such as the Cumbia, Salsa, Merengue, Tango, Rumba, Cha-Cha, and more.
Day: Saturdays
Time: 1:30 p.m.
Location: Joslyn Adult Center
Fee: $5 per class ($3 per class with current BSAC card)

AARP Driver Safety Program
Want to lower your Car insurance premiums?  (4-hour refresher class only). For information, contact the Joslyn Recreation Office at 818.238.5353.
Day: 2nd Tuesday of each month
Location: Joslyn Adult Center
Fee: $14.00 ($12 for AARP members)

Benefits Enrollment Program
One-on–one counseling is available to help determine if you are eligible for programs such as: CalFresh (nutrition), Medi-Cal, Medicare Savings Program, Extra-Help (savings on insurance premiums, co-pays, and prescription drugs), and Utility Discount programs. Note: please bring identification, proof of income and expenses, and copies of your utility bills with you. Presented by WISE & Healthy Aging Benefit Enrollment Center. Please call 818.238.5353 for an appointment.
