The Parks and Recreation Department aims to create community by ensuring that all residents notwithstanding financial abilities, are able to participate in recreational activities, classes, and programs.
The Department prides itself in being able to provide varied and affordable opportunities while ensuring that those in need have an avenue to also connect with what we provide.
WHAT PROGRAMS ARE ELIGIBLE?Eligible programs include: camps; recreation and special interest classes; youth sports programs; group golf, swim, and tennis lessons; and skate park passes; and older adult trips and classes.
Programs not eligible for scholarships include but are not limited to: special event admissions, Starlight Bowl concerts, daily facility admissions, Burbank Senior Activity Card, Afterschool Daze Program, class material fees, Go Party! packages, facility rentals, private lessons, and any activity costing less than $10.
Applicant must be 18 years of age or under (if 18, must still be enrolled in high school); or 55+ years. Applicants must reside in Burbank and gross annual household income may not exceed the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guidelines delineated in the application packet. Applicants must meet all registration requirements of the requested activity.
HOW TO APPLY
Submit a completed Scholarship Application and copies of required verification documents a minimum of two weeks before the start date of the requested activity. Click on the links below to download an application and information packet.
Scholarships are limited to $200 per eligible individual per calendar year. Scholarships may not cover 100% of activity cost, and does not cover materials fees for classes.
Scholarships are awarded as funding is available and completion of this application does not guarantee approval of scholarship. All submitted information is kept strictly confidential.
