AT&T CONDUIT RELOCATION
AT&T is relocating a major conduit system in downtown Burbank and along Front Street to allow for Caltrans to reconstruct the Burbank Boulevard bridge crossing the I-5 Freeway. Conduit relocation work will be done in three phases and the duration will be approximately four months. Normal work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Due to job site conditions, work hours may vary from the normal schedule.
Phase 1 began in early August 2017 along Third Street and Orange Grove Avenue and is continuing toward Bonnywood Place, just shy of the I-5 Freeway. A bore pit will be set up with one-way approved traffic control going eastbound only between Bonnywood Place and First Street.
Phase 2 began in September 2017, to install the AT&T conduit system under the I-5 Freeway. Traffic control on the Bonnywood Place side (eastside of the I-5) will remain the same as Phase 1. There will also be a receiving pit on Front Street (westside of the I-5) near the Metrolink Station with approved traffic control. This work is estimated to last approximately 3-4 weeks.
Phase 3 will be done concurrently with Phase 2 to install the conduit system from the Burbank Boulevard/Front Street intersection. The traffic control will be one-way northbound on Front Street with access to the Metrolink Station at all times.
After installation of the conduit system, pulling AT&T fiber and street restoration will follow with a duration of approximately six months. For additional information, please contract the Public Works project manager, Ricardo Sanchez at (818) 238-3954.
