Sandbags Available to Burbank Residents and Businesses
The City of Burbank will make sandbags available for Burbank residents and business owners in response to this week’s forecasted rainstorms.
The National Weather Service is predicting a Pacific storm system to bring significant rain to much of Southern California Tuesday into Wednesday. This storm may result in heavy rainfall and the threat of flash floods.
To help counteract the effects of the storm, the Public Works department has provided sandbags, free of charge, to residents and business owners in Burbank. Residents will be given as many as 25 sandbags but can request more if deemed appropriate. Pickup will be coordinated at the Public Works Field Services Yard on 124 South Lake Street on Monday – Friday, from 7a.m. to 4p.m.
Public Works requires proof of business or residency in Burbank such as a BWP utility bill or driver’s license. Staff will verify the address and issue a receipt with the amount of sandbags to be issued.
For more information, please contact the Field Services Yard at (818) 238-3800.
