City of Burbank Receives Excellence in Economic Development Awards
Honors resented by the International Economic Development Council
BURBANK, CA (October 11, 2018) – The City of Burbank / Economic Development & Housing Division recently won two Silver Excellence in Economic Development Awards from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) for its City of Burbank Business and Economic Development 2016-2017 Annual Report and the Burbank Economic Development Business Attraction Video.
The Division produces an Annual Report that is timed for release at the State of the City address each October. An annual gathering of more than 500 businesses and decision-makers, the State of the City officially unveils the Mayor and City Council's priorities, themes, and commitments for the coming year. View the 2018 State of the City video here https://youtu.be/GeQiCqXmIjQ. The Annual Report is downloadable at https://econdevburbank.com. This Report is also used for marketing in the Los Angeles Business Journal, reaching more than 100,000+ regional decision-makers.
“This year our judges reviewed some extraordinary projects that advanced both communities and businesses. We congratulate all the award winners, and thank everyone who nominated their projects for sharing their success with fellow IEDC members. What we learn from each other helps us to grow and advance as a profession,” said Craig Richard, the 2018 IEDC Board Chair.
“It’s an honor to receive these two Economic Development awards,” stated Mary Hamzoian, City of Burbank Economic Development Manager. “As ‘Media Capital of the World,’ our goal is to achieve excellence in attracting cutting-edge industry to Burbank and our Annual Report and Video are instrumental to our success.”
