Burbank City Council Appoints New City Treasurer
BURBANK, CA (August 7, 2019) – On August 5, 2019, during a Special City Council Meeting, the City of Burbank City Council appointed a new City Treasurer, Krystle Ang Palmer, to replace the vacancy created by the resignation of Debbie Kukta. Ms. Palmer was unanimously selected and will serve until December 14, 2020. The position will be up for election in November 3, 2020.
Ms. Palmer has 14 years of professional experience in Financial Management and Consulting. She has held positions at Booz Allen Hamilton, Arden Asset Management, Adamas International Trading, Collette Vacations, Left Brain Travel, and most recently Vixlet. Her professional portfolio includes building financial models, managing multi-million dollar budgets, producing investment performance reports, and analysis of investments for a New York-based fund of hedge fund with more than $10 billion in assets.
Ms. Palmer received her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Economics and Bachelors of Science in Management Engineering from Ateneo de Manilla University and a Masters of Science in Financial Engineering from Colombia University.
“My primary goal in serving as City Treasurer is to continue to uphold the integrity of the office by properly following procedures to safely manage Burbank’s public funds,” states Ms. Palmer.
“It was a tough decision with so many capable applicants and we are excited to have Ms. Palmer join our City team,” said Mayor Emily Gabel-Luddy. “We look forward to working with her in the future.”
Ms. Palmer will be given the oath of office at the August 13 City Council Regular Meeting.
