Programs are available Monday, October 19, 2009, for the Building Division's 7th Annual Student Design Competition. This year's theme is the design of a desert retreat for an artist or author. Design of a dwelling in a hot and arid setting introduces students to the concepts of energy efficiency and water conservation in the built environment.
The top projects are eligible to win the Burbank Water & Power - Recycle Center Environmental Scholarship, which is a cash prize:
First place $3,000 per team
Second place $2,000 per team
Third place $1,000 per team
Important Dates:
December 4, 2009 Deadline to register
February 12, 2010 Deadline to submit project
March 2, 2010 Recognition Party
March 9, 2010 Presentation of scholarships at City Council meeting
