To ensure a friendly business environment, promote tourism, and develop a Downtown Neighborhood, while protecting single-family neighborhoods, encouraging affordable housing for existing and future residents, and promoting the highest and best use of City real estate assets. 


The Housing and Economic Development Division is comprised of three teams of staff focused on:

  • ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT - Creating, retaining, and attracting high-paying jobs.
  • HOUSING - Implementing Federal grant programs using Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME and HUD funding, and Section 8 programs.
  • REAL ESTATE - Overseeing City-owned land and assisting with City leasing, real estate contracts, and related development. Also manages the Redevelopment Successor Agency
