Burbank City Council Approves Urgency Ordinance Prohibiting Evictions for Non-Payment of Rent Caused by Coronavirus
The Burbank City Council approved an Urgency Ordinance on March 17, 2020 prohibiting the evictions of residential and commercial tenants for non-payment of rent caused by Coronavirus. The moratorium goes into effect immediately and will end on April 30, 2020; unless extended by the City Council. Tenants are still required to pay their rent, and will have up to six months following the expiration of the local emergency declared by Burbank should non-payment occur during the moratorium period that ends on April 30th.
