The Burbank Transportation Commission is composed of seven members appointed by City Council giving consideration to appointing persons affiliated with the following groups: small businesses, large businesses, transportation technology research and development organizations, homeowners, the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority, transportation management organizations or associations and other special needs groups such as senior citizens, persons with disabilities and bicyclists.
Regular meetings are held on the third Monday of each month at 5 p.m. in the Community Services Building Room 101. The Commission discusses all issues relevant to transportation in the City. Members of the public are welcome to attend Commission meetings.
Mission Statement for the Burbank Transportation Commission

It is the Mission of the Burbank Transportation Commission to lead in developing an adaptable and efficient mobility system that supports Burbank’s high quality of life, strengthens its secure economic position, and provides equal access to opportunity. We provide guidance to the community and to the City Council on how best to develop the City’s transportation system. We implement the City’s adopted plans while carrying out our responsibilities to monitor and advise on the expenditure of the funding resources needed for transportation programs and projects. We consider the mobility needs of all, including transit users, pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists, and those with mobility, visual, and hearing challenges when recommending how best to achieve a balanced transportation network, and partner effectively with staff to achieve sound recommendations to the City Council.
We demonstrate a commitment to ethical principles when making judgments including reliance on sound analysis and financial stewardship while operating according to the highest standards of fairness and honesty.

The Transportation Commission’s Powers and Duties as defined in the Burbank Municipal Code are as follows:
To make recommendations to the City Council on transportation planning issues including but not limited to the Transportation Element of the General Plan and its components.
To make recommendations on the expenditure of Proposition A funds, Proposition C funds, Air Quality funds and bonds, fees, loans and grants for the purpose of funding transportation improvements.
To make recommendations on transportation plans, policies and programs, including, but not limited to pedestrian orientation, telecommuting, intermodal transportation centers and new (transportation) technologies.
To perform such advisory functions as are delegated to it by the provisions of this Code or other action of the Council.
