The City of Burbank continues to be prepared but not panicked in regards to taking a proactive approach towards slowing the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19). As of Monday, March 16, 2020, all City buildings and recreation facilities, playgrounds along with libraries will be closed until further notice. Accordingly, all Nature Center programming has been cancelled for the time being.
VOLUNTEER DOCENT PROGRAM
The Stough Canyon Nature Center Volunteer Docents assist with nature hikes, field trips, office work, trail maintenance, and special events. All new volunteers are required to attend basic training sessions. Volunteers who wish to assist or lead hikes and workshops are required to attend additional training sessions. Most classes are held at the Nature Center and are approximately 1 to 1½ hours long. For more information on becoming a docent, please contact the Nature Center.
Youth Docents will enjoy the great outdoors participating in hikes, projects, games and field trips. Learn about the flora and fauna and wildlife in the area, ecological concepts, natural history and interpretive skills. Docents will also help with Nature Center displays and trail maintenance. Earn service credit for school by volunteering at Nature Center camps and special events. Applications are now open and will be due March 15th. Click here for application
Woodcarvers of all skill levels are invited to join this fun and creative class. The primarily one-on-one instruction will be provided by the Smoky Hollow Carvers.

Time: 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Cost: No registration fee. Optional materials list and fee available upon request.
