On June 2, 2023, the South Coast Air Quality Management District (South Coast AQMD) Governing Board approved $40 million in funds from the California Air Resources Board for the Replace Your Ride program.

The Burbank Police Department has received several calls regarding bear sightings at the top of Thurber, Country Club Dr., and Via Alta in the Burbank mountains.

The Greater Los Angeles County Vector Control District (GLACVCD/District) has confirmed a West Nile virus (WNV) positive mosquito sample in Los Angeles County. The positive mosquito sample was collected from a mosquito trap in the City of Burbank, confirming the presence of the virus in mosquito populations within the community.

LAZ Parking has been selected for the provision of parking enforcement services within the City.

The Burbank Police Department and California Department of Justice continue to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred on May 27, 2023, which resulted in the death of one man.  

San Fernando Blvd will be closed between Magnolia Blvd and Olive Ave from 6:00 AM on Saturday, June 3rd through 10:00 PM on Sunday, June 4th for the Downtown Burbank Arts Festival.
