ALAMEDA NORTH NEIGHBORHOOD PROTECTION PLAN
In April 2019, the Public Works Department began the construction phase of the Alameda North Neighborhood Protection Plan. 

The work includes the closure of Cordova, Avon, Lima, and California Streets to traffic from Alameda Avenue through construction of landscaped cul-de-sacs or barriers.  It also includes:

  • Traffic signal modifications and turn restrictions at the intersection of Alameda Avenue and Ontario Street.
  • Curb extensions at the intersection of Fairview Street and Whitnall Highway.
  • Construction of landscaped medians at the intersections of Niagara Street, Catalina Street, Naomi Street, and Frederic Street with Olive Avenue. 

The construction hours are from 7:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.  The contractor will post “NO PARKING” signs 48 hours in advance of beginning work in areas where parking restrictions will be necessary.

I-5 PHASE 2 PROJECT
From April 2019 to October 2019, the City will be reconstructing 5 traffic signals along the I-5 corridor (Angeleno/Third, Buena Vista/Thornton, Buena Vista/Tulare, Magnolia/Keystone and Olive/Virginia).  The project will improve safety and traffic circulation by installing new poles, cameras, detection, and wiring.  Temporary "No Parking" will occur within 300 feet of these intersections.  For additional project information, please contact the Public Works project manager, Leah Taylor at (818) 238-3915 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

SR-134 PHASE 2 PROJECT

LADWP RIVER SUPPLY CONDUIT IMPROVEMENT UPPER REACH - UNIT 7
LADWP is working on the River Supply Conduit (RSC) Improvement Upper Reach Unit 7 Project, which consists of installing 13,325 linear-feet of 78-inch diameter welded steel pipeline primarily within a tunnel. The project is located in the Burbank area. The tunnel begins at Johnny Carson Park South, located south of the 134 Freeway in Burbank and continues northwest under Whitnall Highway to join RSC Unit 6 near Biloxi Avenue and West Burbank Boulevard.  For more information, please visit: ladwp.com/RSC7
