Burbank City Council Holds Annual Goal Setting Meeting

Burbank, CA (February 2, 2022) – On January 31, 2022, the Burbank City Council participated in a City Council Goal Setting Special Meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to establish the Council Goals, which will determine the types of initiatives and policies that City staff will pursue during the year.

The Meeting kicked off with a presentation and an activity focused on values lead by City-contracted facilitator, Jim Uhl with Breaking The Chain Consulting. The City Council then reviewed and adopted: “How We Work Together” and “Expectations of Staff” documents.

This was followed by each Councilmember proposing a set of goals important to them. The suggestions were combined into overarching goals and Council unanimously voted on seven goals in no order. These goals include:

  1. Economic Recovery/Responsible Development

  2. Housing/Homelessness

  3. Sustainability

  4. City Services

  5. Transportation/Traffic

  6. Quality of Life

  7. Infrastructure

“Burbank is a tremendous City that prides itself on looking ahead and I’d like to commend the Council for being stewards of the future,” said City Manager Justin Hess. “The seven goals that were established and voted on by the Council are continuing to keep Burbank a desirable place to live and do business in the years to come.”
