Burbank Fire Responds to Fire at Burbank Water and Power Substation

BURBANK, CA (April 10, 2020, 3:30 P.M.) – At approximately 11:58 A.M. today, a transformer at the Golden State Substation across from North Meyers Street on West Pacific Avenue caught fire. Burbank Fire Department responded with three engines, two trucks, a rescue ambulance and a Battalion Chief.  Coordinating with Burbank Water and Power, Burbank Fire knocked down the fire within 30 minutes.  The Burbank Hazard’s Material Team responded to ensure there were no hazard materials runoff.

There were no injuries.

The fire damage caused Burbank Water and Power to cut power to a number of residents including those who are serviced by the Ontario Substation.  Power has been restored to all customers. 

Damage assessments and the cause of the fire is ongoing.
