Burbank Gets Ready for Future of Work Showcase on June 30th
Burbank, CA (May 21, 2021) – In January 2021, The City of Burbank in partnership with Untapped Ventures, a local Los Angeles-based startup/venture studio and Venture Capital firm, announced the launch of The Future of Work Accelerator, a new program designed to help stimulate economic development and advance innovation for tech startups, entrepreneurs, and small businesses. Upon completion of this program, participants will reveal their business product or service to a live audience and potential investors at City of Burbank’s and Untapped Venture’s Future of Work showcase on June 30.
The application period for the Future of Work Accelerator program closed on February 18, 2021, with 159 applications. From these, 46 entrepreneurs, representing 23 cohorts or teams were selected to move forward with the program. From these teams, 12 of them are from Los Angeles, including participants from Burbank.
The teams are currently at the Cofounder Matching point, seeking a target market for their product or service. In June, they will move to the Validation point, preparing final investor pitches and presenting at a Future of Work showcase on June 30. Teams from all over the world including New York, San Francisco, Dallas, London, Armenia, Japan, and India, to name a few will participate in this one-of-a-kind showcase opportunity and present their product or service to a live audience.
