Burbank Vice Mayor Appointed to the Southern California Association of Governments Transportation Policy Committee

Burbank, CA (May 24, 2021) – Clint Lorimore, President of the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), has reappointed Burbank Vice Mayor Jess Talamantes to the Transportation Policy Committee.  Vice Mayor Talamantes has served on the Transportation Policy Committee since 2013 in various capacities, including holding the position of Vice-Chair.

The role of the Transportation Policy Committee is to study problems, programs, and other matters, which pertain to the regional issues of mobility, air quality, transportation control measures and communications, and make recommendations on such matters to the Regional Council. 

“I am honored to be reappointed to SCAG’s Transportation Policy Committee,” stated Vice Mayor Talamantes.  “SCAG is an excellent organization serving six counties in Southern California and playing a part in our transportation planning that will continue to improve our region’s mobility needs into the future.”

Vice Mayor Talamantes had a 32-year career of dedicated service as a Burbank Firefighter and continues to bring a powerful, innovative perspective to the Burbank City Council. Elected in 2009, he was named Vice Mayor in 2010, and served as Centennial Mayor during the City’s Centennial Celebration in 2011.  He was re-elected in 2013, was named Vice Mayor in 2015 and served his second term as Mayor in 2016. In 2017, he was once again re-elected and was named Vice Mayor in 2021.
