There are various ways to pay or contest a parking citation in the City of Burbank.
By Mail: Parking citations may be returned by mail with a check or money order made payable to the City of Burbank. Payments should be sent to:

Online: Click here to pay or contest your citation online. Any convenience fees are charged by the vendor, not the City of Burbank. Due to processing delays, it may take up to five days before online payment of your citation is available.
By Phone: You can call our toll free number at 1-833-723-1248 to make a payment by phone. Any convenience fees are charged by the vendor, not the City of Burbank.
In-Person: Payments may also be made in person at the Burbank Police Department, Traffic Bureau, Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Accepted forms of payment include: money order, VISA or Mastercard. American Express and cash are not accepted. If the Traffic Bureau is closed, a drop box is located in the lobby of the station. Make sure to bring your citation or know your citation number to ensure proper credit.
Low Income Individuals: California Vehicle Code (CVC) Section 40220 allows for installment payments of parking citations for qualifying low-income individuals who apply within 120 days from the issuance of a notice of parking violation, or within 10 days after an administrative hearing determination, whichever is later. Impounded Vehicle Release Information
Registered owners of impounded vehicles must first obtain an impound release from the Burbank Police Department before visiting the contract tow storage facility.

If your vehicle was impounded due to an arrest (other than DUI):
- Contact the detective assigned to your case. Before coming in, call 818-238-3333 with your case number to confirm the vehicle’s release status and obtain the detective’s name if needed.
- If your vehicle was impounded for DUI, driving without a license, expired license, expired registration, or other traffic-related violations:
Call the Traffic Bureau at 818-238-3100 to verify the vehicle is available for release before coming in.
- Only the Registered Owner (RO) may obtain an impound release.
- If the RO is unavailable (e.g., out of town), they may mail, overnight, or fax a notarized letter authorizing a specific person to pick up the vehicle. The letter must include:
- The name of the authorized person
- Vehicle details (make, model, license plate number, etc.)
- The RO or designee must present a valid California driver’s license. If only a temporary license is available, another valid photo ID is required.
- An administrative fee is required for all vehicle releases.
- The Burbank Police Department does not accept cash or checks.
- Payment must be made by credit card or debit card.
