The Burbank Police Department is committed to returning eligible funds held in police custody to their rightful owners whenever possible.
Pursuant to California Government Code Sections 50050–50057, the Police Department periodically reviews funds held in its Property & Evidence Unit to identify monies that have remained unclaimed for three years or longer and are eligible for public notice and disposition.

Unclaimed funds are monies held by the Burbank Police Department that have remained unclaimed by the rightful owner for at least three years and are no longer needed as evidence or for any legal proceeding.
The Burbank Police Department periodically publishes a list of individuals and entities with unclaimed funds in accordance with California Government Code Section 50050.

If you find your name listed in the published notice, follow these steps to submit a claim:
1. Complete the Claim Form
Download and complete the Unclaimed Funds Claim Form (PDF).
2. Provide Supporting Documentation
Attach copies of any documents supporting ownership or entitlement to the funds.
3. Submit Your Claim
Mail or deliver the completed claim form and supporting documentation to:

Claims must be received no less than 45 days and no more than 60 days following the date of publication of the notice, as required by California Government Code Section 50051.
Funds that remain unclaimed after the claim period expires may be transferred to the City in accordance with state law and will no longer be available for claim.
