Inspections

The Fire & Life Safety Division is responsible for conducting inspections mandated by the California Fire Code and Burbank Municipal Code:

  • New building construction
  • Tenant improvements or re-models
  • Fire sprinkler, fire alarm, and special protection systems
  • Occupancies: hotels, churches, schools, public assemblies, health care facilities, mide-rise and high-rise buildings
  • Multi-family dwelling units with three or more units
  • Businesses
  • Special events, production facilities, and filming locations
  • Businesses with hazardous materials and underground or aboveground storage tanks
  • Fire Hazard Reducation Program


 

Fees

Fees vary based on the project or inspection type. Refer to the Citywide Fee Schedule, Section V - Public Safety.

  1. Inspection is completed.
  2. Invoice sent out typically within two weeks.
    • Specifies date of service (inspection date)
    • Inspection location
  3. Payment required within 30 days of invoice date.

Burbank Fire uses Wittman Enterprises to issue inspection invoices and collect payment.
