The Burbank Police Explorer Program is a volunteer career development program for young men and women interested in law enforcement. Open to ages 14–21, the program is supervised by members of the Burbank Police Department and provides opportunities to serve both the department and the community.
Program Overview
The Explorer Program combines academic and technical training with hands-on experience. Participants develop teamwork, leadership, and self-discipline skills that prepare them to become successful community leaders.
How to Join
- Complete an application (download application here - PDF).
- Interview – qualified applicants will be invited for an interview.
- Academy – accepted candidates attend the Explorer Academy (held every Saturday for 18 weeks).
After Graduation
Explorers may:
- Assist at community events
- Participate in ride-alongs with sworn officers
- Compete in Explorer competitions
