Burbank police headquarters
The Field Operations Division is the backbone of the police department, providing patrol services, responding to calls for help, enforcing traffic laws, and working with the community to keep neighborhoods safe.
The Patrol Division receives and responds to all calls for emergency services, conducts timely initial investigations and appropriate follow-up, prevents crime through proactive, directed, and non-directed patrols, and prepares documentation on all calls for service and police reports.

The Gang Unit is part of the Patrol Division and focuses on reducing gang activity in Burbank. The team includes four patrol officers and one detective who work together to:

  • Monitor and respond to gang-related crimes

  • Build local expertise on gang trends

  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and the community

They also partner with local organizations like the Burbank Unified School District, Burbank Housing Corporation, Parks & Recreation, and Graffiti Removal teams.
