The Investigations Division works closely with the community to follow up on crimes, gather evidence, and support the prosecution of offenders. With specialized units dedicated to crimes against persons, property, families, gangs, and more, along with forensic specialists, the division is committed to seeking justice and enhancing public safety through thorough and transparent investigations.
The Persons Detail investigates all violent crimes and those having the potential for violence.
The Property Detail investigates all larcenies, including burglary, auto theft, and fraud.
The Special Victims Unit conducts investigations involving juveniles, cases of domestic violence, and other crimes involving relatives. This unit also provides a School Resource Officer to assist with crimes that occur on school grounds and investigations related to school safety and education.
The Special Investigations Detail investigates and initiates investigations related to narcotics. The unit also investigates complaints regarding alcohol, commercial sex, and gambling violations, and participates in multi-agency regional task forces.

The Gang Detail is comprised of a sergeant, a detective, and two police officers. The Gang Detail is responsible for monitoring gang activity and combating gang crime and graffiti.
