Danny Alvarez

Fire Chief

Danny Alvarez has served with the Burbank Fire Department for over 25 years and was named Fire Chief in 2023.

Chief Alvarez's notable positions have included deputy fire chief, fire battalion chief, fire captain, fire engineer and fire prevention inspector. Furthermore, his experience extended to roles such as recruit academy instructor, hazardous materials team member, and of course, firefighter.

A passionate advocate for regional and statewide fire service and emergency management organizations, Chief Alvarez holds a bachelor's degree in fire and emergency management from Waldorf University. He has also undergone comprehensive education and training during his career. He is a credentialed Chief Fire Officer through the Center for Public Safety Excellence and a certified Executive Chief Officer through the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
