Training & Safety

The Training & Safety Division helps ensure that every member of the Burbank Fire Department is well-trained, up to date on safety practices, and ready to respond to any emergency.
 

Functions

  • Organizes and runs recruit academies for new firefighters
  • Delivers ongoing training for crews and individuals
  • Introduces new tools, techniques, and safety concepts
  • Coordinates joint training with other cities and agencies
  • Promotes safe operations and investigates any injuries
  • Helps conduct promotional exams for sworn positions
  • Keeps detailed records of all training activities
