The Training & Safety Division helps ensure that every member of the Burbank Fire Department is well-trained, up to date on safety practices, and ready to respond to any emergency.
Functions
- Organizes and runs recruit academies for new firefighters
- Delivers ongoing training for crews and individuals
- Introduces new tools, techniques, and safety concepts
- Coordinates joint training with other cities and agencies
- Promotes safe operations and investigates any injuries
- Helps conduct promotional exams for sworn positions
- Keeps detailed records of all training activities
