The Emergency Management Division protects the community from natural and human-caused hazards through various activities.
  
Functions
- Assessing Risks: identifying hazards in Burbank.
- Developing Plans: creating plans to support response and recovery efforts.
- Engaging in Public Outreach: providing preparedness information to the public. Examples include the Burbank Fire Department conducting Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) classes and offering tips in our Emergency Preparedness section.
- Training City of Burbank Employees: educating employees by conducting exercises about topics such as an active shooter threat at a City building with casualties.
- Coordinating Resources: ensuring the necessary resources (personnel, equipment, and supplies) are available and ready to be deployed.
- Collaborating with Other Agencies: coordinating with all City Departments, all levels of government (local, county, state, and federal), and other stakeholders to effectively prepare for and respond to emergencies.
- Managing the Burbank Fire Corps: overseeing volunteers who perform non-hazardous response and support functions. Find more information at BurbankFireCorps.org.
