Library: Author Talk - Writing From Our Immigrant Hearts
A One Book, One County Program
Teresa Mei Chuc, Alicia Viguer-Espert, Toti O’Brien, Arminé Iknadossian, and Lisbeth Coiman share their journeys from their respective homelands--Vietnam, Spain, Italy, Beirut, Venezuela--to the US.
Dr. Thelma T. Reyna will moderate a round-robin discussion about the authors’ personal stories, visions, dreams, and experiences as they left their original cultures and started new lives in the US. Afterwards, the authors will read excerpts from their books, both prose and poetry. These five writers, coming from distinct backgrounds, remind us that we all embody similar values, hopes, and goals for what it means to be part of a harmonious, inclusive, just, and respectful society.
