Library: The Making of Mary Poppins

Library: The Making of Mary Poppins

For many of us of a certain age, Mary Poppins was one of the most memorable film experiences of our youth -- this classic Disney film was the movie-going sensation of the holiday season of 1964. Filmed on the studio lot here in Burbank just a few blocks away, Mary Poppins is a part of our local history. In an illustrated talk, Disney History Institute scholar Todd James Pierce will put you in the room as Walt Disney, the Sherman brothers, P.J. Travers, and others, giving an inside view of their ideas for the development of the narrative and songs for the film. You will be there as the film is created.

The book will be available for sale and the author will host a signing after the program. A great gift for the holidays!
