Downtown Sidewalk Enhancement Project/San Fernando Reconfiguration Phase 2
Downtown Sidewalk Enhancement Project/San Fernando Reconfiguration Phase 2 Pop-up
CDD Transportation staff will host a tabling event at the Burbank Farmers' Market to share information and answer questions about the upcoming Downtown Burbank Sidewalk Enhancement Project. This is a First/Last Mile initiative to improve transit and pedestrian connectivity to Downtown Burbank's busiest transit stops and that will transform Downtown Burbank by building upon and making the improvements introduced during the Downtown San Fernando Reconfiguration Phase 1 permanent. This project will reconstruct three blocks (0.25 miles) of San Fernando Blvd between Olive and Magnolia Avenues, widening sidewalks to create space for pedestrians, landscaping, street furniture, outdoor dining, and shade trees while improving separation from vehicles. Intersection upgrades will include curb extensions, ADA-compliant ramps, accessible pedestrian signals, and high-visibility or scramble crosswalks at key locations.
