Press Release: 2023 Youth Art Expo at the Betsy Lueke Creative Arts Center

Burbank, CA (April 4, 2023) – The City of Burbank Parks and Recreation Department and the Burbank Fine Arts Federation are excited to announce the 2023 Youth Art Expo. The theme for this year’s event is “Deep Dive into Art”.  The Betsy Lueke Creative Arts Center located at 1100 W Clark Ave, Burbank, CA 91506, will host two opening receptions with award presentations to celebrate the featured student artists. The reception for grades sixth through twelfth will be held Thursday, April 6 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. followed by the reception for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through fifth grade on Friday, April 7 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Awards will be presented at approximately 6:00 p.m. on both nights.

The Youth Art Expo features artwork from Burbank students enrolled in TK through twelfth grade in the surrounding public and private schools. With the support of over 100 teachers, more than 1,600 submissions were received this year. The top 221 pieces will be featured.

While enjoying the “Deep Dive into Art” exhibit, viewers may notice an abundance of sea animals throughout the gallery. To include as many students as possible, each student was encouraged to decorate a sea animal to be displayed in the show. This is a representation of how students can blossom when presented with an opportunity and proper encouragement.

The 2023 Youth Art Expo is co-sponsored by the City of Burbank’s Park and Recreation Department and the Burbank Fine Arts Federation. The Burbank Fine Arts Federation is a non-profit organization that supports the arts in Burbank and assists the Parks and Recreation’s Cultural Arts section by coordinating special events.
