Burbank Councilmember Appointed to 2022 SCAG Resilience & Conservation Subcommittee

Burbank, CA (September 8, 2022) – The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) has appointed Burbank Councilmember Nick Schultz to the 2022 SCAG Resilience & Conservation Subcommittee.

The Resilience & Conservation Subcommittee will advance the direction set in the SCAG Regional Council Resolution on Climate Change Action to consider opportunities for enhanced conservation to support communities in adapting to changing conditions or mitigating risks to become more resilient. As a member of this subcommittee, Councilmember Schultz will also provide recommendations to SCAG Policy Committee members on how to address these issues in Connect SoCal 2024, the 2023-2050 Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy planning document for the region. 

“I am thrilled to have been appointed to the Resilience & Conservation Subcommittee,” said Councilmember Schultz. “As a member of this subcommittee I will have the unique opportunity to provide important input that will help shape the environmental and sustainable future of Burbank and our region.”

SCAG is a Joint Powers Authority under California state law, established as an association of local governments and agencies that voluntarily convene as a forum to address regional issues. SCAG is responsible for developing regional plans for transportation, growth management, hazardous waste management, and air quality.
