Burbank PD Community Bulletin: Safety and Courtesy During Neighborhood Events

Burbank, CA (October 15, 2025) – As we enter the holiday season, the Burbank Police Department would like to remind everyone to stay safe, be considerate, and respect our neighborhoods while driving, walking, and visiting areas with holiday decorations or community events.

Each year, decorated neighborhoods attract many visitors who enjoy walking or driving through residential areas. While these displays bring joy and community spirit, they can also create increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic. To ensure everyone enjoys the season safely, please keep the following reminders in mind:

Drivers

  • Follow all traffic and parking laws. Do not block driveways, fire hydrants, crosswalks, or park in front of posted “No Parking” areas
  • Drive slowly and remain alert for pedestrians, especially children, who may be crossing mid-block or between parked cars
  • Avoid double parking or stopping in the middle of the street to view displays or drop off passengers
  • Refrain from honking unnecessarily or playing loud music that may disturb residents

Pedestrians and Visitors

  • Stay on sidewalks and avoid congregating in the middle of the street
  • Cross streets at corners or marked crosswalks
  • Be respectful of residents by keeping noise to a minimum, staying on public walkways, and not entering private property
  • Dispose of trash properly and help keep our neighborhoods clean

Residents Hosting Events or Displays

  • Keep music and noise at reasonable levels, particularly during evening hours
  • Manage lighting and crowd activity responsibly
  • Encourage guests to park legally and avoid blocking access for others
