Burbank PD Community Bulletin: Travel Safely During the Thanksgiving Holiday
As the holiday season gets underway, the Burbank Police Department encourages everyone to make safety part of their travel and celebration plans. With more people on the roads this time of year, simple steps like buckling up, avoiding distractions, and planning a sober ride home help keep our community safe.
Whether you’re driving across town or visiting family out of the area, please remember to wear your seatbelt and make sure children are secured in the appropriate car seat or booster seat for their age and size. Drivers are also urged to stay focused on the road by avoiding cell phones, in-car distractions, and anything that takes attention away from driving.
“Thanksgiving and the holidays are about being with the people who matter most,” Sergeant Christopher Hensley said. “By buckling up, staying alert, and choosing not to drive impaired, we can all help ensure that everyone arrives safely.”
To prevent impaired driving, designate a sober driver before heading out, use public transportation or a ride-share service, and step in to help friends or family find a safe ride if needed. Holiday hosts are encouraged to offer non-alcoholic beverage options and assist guests in getting home safely.
The Burbank Police Department wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday season.
