Burbank PD News Release: Burbank PD to Host Holiday Shopping Event
On December 10, 2025, the Burbank Police Department will partner with Walmart and the Burbank Housing Corporation to help local youth in need purchase holiday gifts for their families.
This philanthropic holiday shopping program began in December 1990, and the Burbank Police Department has proudly participated every year since. As part of the Department’s continued commitment to supporting the community and assisting families facing financial hardship, 30 children have been selected by the Burbank Housing Corporation to take part in this year’s event. Selection was based on family income and need.
Each child will receive a $198 gift card, generously sponsored by Walmart, the Kiwanis Club of Burbank, the Rotary Club of Burbank Noon, and the Burbank Police Officers Association. Participants will be accompanied by Burbank police officers, cadets, and explorers as they shop for holiday gifts for themselves and their families. Following the shopping trip, each family will receive a $50 Handy Market gift certificate, purchased by the Burbank Police Foundation, to assist with holiday meals.
The goal of this annual event is to give local children a memorable, positive holiday experience while strengthening community relationships with law enforcement. Members of the community and media are invited to attend. The event begins at 5:00 PM on December 10 at Walmart Burbank, 1301 N. Victory Place.
