Burbank PD News Release: Holiday Spirit Restored After Toy Donation Theft Arrest

On December 4, 2025, at about 11:20 a.m., Burbank Police officers responded to a business located at 2550 N. Hollywood Way regarding a reported theft of toys that had been donated for a Toys-for-Tots drive.

Employees reported that on December 3, 2025, a food delivery driver entered the business to deliver an order. After the delivery, staff noticed several toys were missing from a donation box in the lobby. Upon reviewing surveillance footage, management observed the driver leaving with toys and later returning with an empty insulated food bag. The suspect was then seen concealing additional toys in the bag before leaving the building and driving away.

Through investigative follow-up, officers identified the suspect as 43-year-old Sedrak Khachatrian of Burbank.

On December 6, 2025, at about 7:00 a.m., Burbank Police personnel served a search warrant at Mr. Khachatrian’s apartment. Officers recovered multiple toys consistent with those stolen from the donation box, including board games, puzzles, a Hot Wheels set, and Disney princess dolls.

Many of the toys were returned to the business.

Mr. Khachatrian was arrested and booked at the Burbank Jail for burglary, a felony. Formal charges are pending review by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
