Burbank Public Library Launches PRIDE Library Card Art Contest
Burbank, CA (June 3, 2025) — In celebration of Pride Month, Burbank Public Library invites artists to help design a new limited-edition library card inspired by Queer and Trans joy.
From June 1 through June 30, 2025, community members are encouraged to submit original artwork that captures the vibrant spirit and celebration of LGBTQIA+ communities. The winning design will debut in September 2025, coinciding with National Library Card Sign-Up Month.
The contest was developed by Inclusion Librarian Stephanie Hiett. “The Pride Art Contest came to mind as a way to celebrate the LGBTQAI+ community, and honestly, I couldn’t think of a better place to do that than the library! I offer this contest as a safe and welcoming place to be in celebration of who you are!"
Submission Guidelines:
- Open to artists 15 years or older who live or attend school in Los Angeles County
- Artwork must be original (no AI-generated art, foul language, sexual content, or trademarked characters/logos)
- Submissions may be digital or scanned hand-drawn pieces
- Templates and full details available at: https://burbanklibrary.org/prideartcontest
