Burbank, CA (March 6, 2024) – Following the resounding success of new additions to Downtown Burbank like Republik Coffee, the City of Burbank is positioned to welcome a fresh wave of new businesses. Playing a pivotal role in this surge is the City’s Economic Development team, a division of the Community Development Department dedicated to attracting new businesses and fostering investment in Burbank.

The upcoming establishments are set to elevate Burbank into an even more sought-after destination for residents and visitors. The anticipated new businesses include:

  • Kalaveras*: Adding to the dining scene in Downtown Burbank, Kalaveras* is set to open in Spring 2024, offering Latin American culinary classics with a vibrant flare. Kalaveras will be located at 221 North San Fernando Boulevard.
  • Nothing Bundt Cakes: Joining the Empire Center, Nothing Bundt Cakes specializes in sweet desserts for any celebration. The opening is anticipated in Spring 2024. Nothing Bundt Cakes will be located at 1737 North Victory Place.
  • Rivian Automotive, Inc.: Scheduled to open its doors late 2024, Rivian is poised to become a notable addition to the community, offering new options and a service center for their electric vehicles. Rivian will be located at 3120 Empire Avenue.

This diverse mix of businesses is a testament to the strategic efforts of Burbank's Economic Development team, juggling multiple roles to stimulate the local economy. The Economic Development team's planning and execution include attracting new businesses, assisting with the permitting process, and providing concierge services.

“The personal attention I received from the City’s Economic Development team and business concierge services made all the difference,” shared Republik Coffee Co-owner, Nader Kaiser. “That is why we chose Burbank for our second location.”

As the Economic Development team continues to enhance the commercial landscape, residents can expect a variety of new offerings, making Burbank an even more appealing and exciting destination for residents, visitors, and businesses alike.
