BURBANK, CA (January 3, 2022) – The Burbank City Clerk’s Office is accepting applications for five (5) positions on the Charter Review Committee beginning January 3, 2022 through February 2, 2022. Applications may be submitted online, please visit https://www.burbankca.gov/web/city-clerks-office/bccapplication or pick up an application in the City Clerk’s Office located in the Burbank City Hall at 275 East Olive Avenue, First Floor. Not more than five (5) years following completion of the previous Charter review or the completion of the citizen committee review as provided in this paragraph, whichever is most recent, the Council shall appoint a citizen committee of five (5) members, one (1) appointed by each Council Member, to consider the Charter and advise the Council whether a comprehensive Charter review is necessary. The committee may recommend a full review, a limited, focused review, or no review. Upon such recommendation the Council may appoint a full Charter Review Committee, the number and appointments of which shall be determined by the Council, to determine what, if any, Charter changes should be placed before the voters.

The deadline for submitting an application to the Burbank City Clerk’s Office is Wednesday, February 2, 2022, by 5:00 p.m. Applications may be submitted online at https://www.burbankca.gov/web/city-clerks-office/bccapplication. The appointments are tentatively scheduled to be made at the March 1, 2022 City Council Regular Meeting. All City Board, Commission, and Committee members serve without compensation from the City. No individual shall serve on more than one Board, Commission, or Committee at the same time. All applicants must be electors of, and actually live in the City of Burbank, with the exception of the Burbank Cultural Arts Commission and the Sustainable Burbank Commission.
