City Appoints New Members to the Burbank-Glendale - Pasadena Airport Authority

Burbank, CA (May 21, 2021) – At the May 18, 2021, City Council meeting, Emily Gabel-Luddy and Robert 'Bud' Ovrom were appointed to represent the City of Burbank on the Burbank-Glendale - Pasadena Airport Authority. 

The Authority is a separate government agency created under a Joint Powers Agreement
(JPA) between the cities of Burbank, Glendale, and Pasadena in 1977 for the sole
purpose of owning and operating the Hollywood Burbank Airport (formerly known as Bob
Hope Airport). The mission of the Authority is to provide state-of-the-art regional airport
facilities and related services which are efficient, safe, convenient, and user-friendly while
being a good neighbor. The Authority consists of nine (9) Commissioners, three (3)
appointments from each City, which are appointed by each City’s Council Members.

Ms. Gabel-Luddy recently served as Mayor and a City Councilmember for Burbank. During her tenor as Mayor in 2019/2020, she chaired the Airport’s Noise Task Force, listening to and 
working with the community, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and other
stakeholders to help identify potential actions to reduce airplane noise annoyance without shifting noise to other noise-sensitive communities.

Mr. Ovrom, has served as City Manager of three cities, including Burbank and held four executive positions with the City of Los Angeles. He has extensive experience in project management oversight of major construction projects that will help guide the construction of the new terminal.
