City of Burbank Announces Next Phase of Community Engagement for Potential New Central Library and Public Plaza

Burbank, CA (November 20, 2025) — The City of Burbank moves into the next phase of community engagement for the potential new Central Library and Public Plaza and invites residents to participate in a new series of Community Workshops and Town Hall meetings. These events will provide opportunities for the community to learn more about the project, ask questions, and share ideas that will help shape the early vision for the space.

"Our goal is to build more than just a library; we want a world class library where learning, connection, and community thrive,” said Eric Lashley, Library Services Director. “By participating in these events, residents can play an active role in shaping a space that belongs to everyone in Burbank." 

Upcoming Community Workshops
Residents are encouraged to participate in the upcoming Community Workshops: 

  • Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Central Library 
  • Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Central Library
  • Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 7:00 to 8:00 PM online

Town Halls
Community Town Halls will provide more detailed updates on the project’s timeline, design process, and potential impacts, as well as mitigation efforts associated with future construction. Each meeting will present the same information and include a presentation followed by time for questions and discussion. Residents are invited to attend the following sessions:  

  • Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Central Library 
  • Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 7:00 to 8:00 PM online
  • Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Central Library
