City of Burbank Expands Online Permitting Features

Burbank, CA (October 24, 2022) – The City of Burbank’s Community Development Department (CDD) in collaboration with the Information Technology Department (IT) has expanded the Online Permit feature for residents by adding 13 new CDD Building & Safety Division Building Permits.  Residents can now easily apply for and obtain 15 different types of Building Permits. The updates also allow contractors to create permits for single-family residential houses, verify state license compliance, Workers’ Comp insurance requirements, and more.

The Online Permit feature, available to all residents through the Citizen Access Portal, allows residents to apply for simple building permits for plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building upgrades, repairs, and maintenance services saving them a visit to the City’s Community Services Building or an email to Building & Safety Division’s general inbox.

For individuals who prefer to submit applications and requests in person, residents can visit the Community Services Building (150 N 3rd St, Burbank, CA 91502) Monday- Friday from 8:00 am to 11:30 am and 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

For any questions or concerns about the online permitting process, please email [email protected] or contact the office at (818) 238-5220.
