City of Burbank Hosts Ribbon Cutting for Santa Anita Playlot

Burbank, CA (October 28, 2025) – The City of Burbank Parks and Recreation Department (Department) invites the community to celebrate the grand opening of the newly renovated Santa Anita Playlot with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at 250 West Santa Anita Avenue, Burbank, CA. This event is free and open to the public.

The Playground renovation was made possible through Measure A grant funding from the Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space District and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding. These resources enabled the replacement of playground equipment originally installed in 2011, transforming the space into a vibrant, inclusive, and modern play area that meets today’s safety and accessibility standards.

The new playground features inclusive play elements designed to ensure that children of all abilities can play, learn, and grow together. By prioritizing accessibility and innovation, the project reflects the Department’s ongoing commitment to creating spaces where all residents feel welcome and supported.

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, guests are invited to explore the Playlot’s movie-themed playground design, a playful nod to Burbank’s legacy as the Media Capital of the World. The reimagined play space offers opportunities for creativity, connection, and community pride.
