City of Burbank RISE Program Accepting Applications for Class of 2026

Burbank, CA (October 1, 2025) – The City of Burbank Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce the launch of the Residents Inspiring Service and Empowerment (RISE) program for the Class of 2026.

RISE provides a wide offering for Burbank residents to enhance their leadership skills. This free eight-week program is designed to inspire leadership, empower residents, and foster constructive dialogue to invigorate civic engagement. Participants will broaden their understanding of the City and its resources, while introducing them to the City of Burbank officials, as well as local nonprofits and businesses.

Applications will be accepted from adults 18 years or older, and youth in their senior year of high school, who are committed to creating positive change in their communities through service and empowerment. Program sessions will be held every Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., beginning February 4, 2026. The program will conclude with a graduation ceremony on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

This is a volunteer program, and there is no fee to participate.

Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2025.
