Construction to Begin September 9 on Palm Paseo Beautification Project in Downtown Burbank
Burbank, CA (September 4, 2026) – Construction on the Palm Paseo Beautification Project in Downtown Burbank is scheduled to begin Wednesday, September 9, 2026, bringing new amenities and enhancements designed to improve the pedestrian experience along the walkway and surrounding area. The project will include new landscaping and trees, shade, seating, enhanced lighting, bike racks, public art, pedestrian amenities, and improvements to the alley adjacent to the Orange Grove parking structure.
During construction, visitors and businesses can expect temporary fencing along the Palm Paseo, construction equipment, minimal noise and dust, as well as temporary pedestrian detours. Businesses along the Paseo Walkway will remain open and accessible throughout construction.
To help minimize impacts to Downtown Burbank businesses and visitors, construction activities are planned Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The limited construction hours are intended to avoid peak lunch periods and weekends while maintaining access to businesses and pedestrian areas whenever feasible.
Construction will pause for the holiday season beginning mid-November 2026 and is expected to resume mid-January 2027. The project is currently anticipated to be completed in Summer 2027.
