Mayor Takahashi Earns Two Cal Cities Torch Awards

Burbank, CA (September 29, 2026) – Burbank Mayor Tamala Takahashi has earned two Torch Award levels through the League of California Cities (Cal Cities) Mayors & Council Members Leadership Academy: Level I – Leadership and Level II – Advanced Leadership.

The Torch Program is an educational program for mayors and council members seeking continuing education to enhance their knowledge and skills in order to better serve the public.

“I’m honored to receive this recognition and grateful for the opportunities Cal Cities provides to learn from colleagues across the state,” said Mayor Takahashi. “Continuing to grow as a leader helps me better serve Burbank and contribute to the important work cities are doing throughout California.”

Mayor Takahashi was recognized during the Mayors & Council Members Department Meeting at the Cal Cities Annual Conference & Expo on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the Anaheim Convention Center. Cal Cities is an association of California city officials who work together to enhance their knowledge and skills, exchange information, and combine resources to influence policy decisions that affect cities statewide.
