WHY:
Burbank Water and Power is deploying its largest utility-scale solar installation paired with battery storage. This project will help the City of Burbank meet local and state environmental goals for a zero-carbon future. Rooftop solar-plus-battery systems, like the RITC project, are essential to overcoming two fundamental challenges of renewable energy: intermittency, ensuring power is available when the sun isn’t shining, and the scarcity of adequate space for large-scale solar in a dense city like Burbank.
